If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to produce a TED-style talk event on June 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Rockville Library (21 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850).

This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of a compelling event from start to finish. Your success in this role could lead to future collaborations and opportunities. We are seeking an independent contractor to produce a one time event.

• Full Event Management: Oversee all aspects of the event, including planning, logistics, marketing, volunteer coordination, and on-site execution.
• Budget Management: Develop and adhere to a budget, maximizing resourcefulness and profit.
• Ticket Sales & Revenue Generation: Drive ticket sales through creative marketing strategies.
• Sponsorship & Donation Acquisition: Identify and secure sponsors and donations to support the event.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with various event tasks.
• Guest Experience: Ensure a positive and engaging experience for all attendees.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for catering, equipment rentals, and other services.
• No Conflict of Interest: We are not interested in those working in any industry.

Strict adherence to time: Event must be done by the appointed time

• Proven experience in planning, hosting, and managing successful events.
• Strong ability to generate leads, network, and acquire new sponsors/donations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using technology for communication (email, text, etc.) and marketing.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to keep all information confidential and trade secrets for customers, clients, business owners, team members, and volunteers.
• Ability to work well online and communicate with business owners by different forms of technology, text, email, etc.
• Ability to be present on the main event date.

This is a commission-based position, with potential for bonuses based on performance. Your compensation will be directly tied to your success in generating ticket sales, securing sponsorships, and attracting donations. The commission and bonus structure are open for discussion and will be designed to reward a resourceful and creative individual who maximizes profitability, time, and networking opportunities.
